Please note that you can compose offline, and then cut and paste into the box, if you are into that type of thing. You may also use html.
A quick note on weblog etiquette:
When you are broaching a new, or even “new-ish” topic, make a new post, don’t just hit Reply or Comment on a previous post. So, let’s say there is a discussion as to whether we need a mascot. You’re reading a mascot post, “I say pugs!” and that, for some reason, reminds you of a book the group might find interesting. Don’t write your entry under the “mascot” post; make a new thread called “An interesting book,” so that your suggestion gets proper placement on the front page of the site, and so that new discussions may begin.
Categories
To the right of the writing box you’ll see a series of check boxes. If possible, choose the box closest to your post topic. This is not necessary, but it makes life easier b/c doing so automatically sorts the posts, thus making them self-archiving.
Commenting on a post
To comment on an extant post, simply click on the post title, which will take you the page dedicated to that post. At the bottom of the post, you will see a box where you can leave your comment.
Citing a post on another blog
Cross-blogging is really important. To bring a post over to your blog:
-
1. click the blog title
2. copy (ctrl+C) the address from the browser address bar.
3. start a new post on your own blog
4. click “link” in the writing box
5. paste the address into the form
6. continue your post as usual
Editing a post
To edit a post you have already published, you have two options: you may either click the “edit” link next to the post title, or you can locate your post under the “Manage” tab in the admin section.
